We linked up with VP Records artist Romain Virgo to shoot a video for the acoustic version of his song “Fade Away”. Inspired by recognizably New York subway busking we created the simple set at the YouTube Studios in Chelsea Market NYC using a salvaged subway sign suspended from the ceiling as one of the set design pieces. Director Garth von Glehn shot the touching video using two RED Epic Dragon 6k cameras and the Sony a7S mounted on a remote headed jib. Canon Cine Prime lenses were used on all cameras.
In the years since he made history as the youngest winner of Television Jamaica’s (TVJ) popular “Rising Stars” talent competition at just 17-years-old, Romain Virgo has emerged as one of the island’s finest singer/songwriters. In this incredibly touching rendition of Fade Away, he showcases why he got that title.
